Traveler

TraffickCam, a phone app created by Exchange Initiative, allows anyone with a smartphone to fight sex trafficking when they travel by uploading photos of hotel rooms to a law enforcement database. Many trafficking victims are sold online. To create online ads, traffickers take pictures of their captives in hotel rooms where these victims will later be forced to perform sex acts. When you add a photo to the database, you help provide evidence for law enforcement and facilitate the prosecution of these perpetrators. https://traffickcam.com/download

Buy goods sourced ethically. Avoid products and companies acting in opposition to anti-trafficking efforts. The U.S. Department of Labor offers a list of goods often produced by child and forced labor on its site. You can also download the Bureau of International Labor Affairs’ (ILAB’s) Sweat & Toil smartphone app containing research to back up its findings. ILAB leads the U.S. Department of Labor’s efforts to ensure that workers around the world are treated fairly and able to share in the benefits of the global economy. https://www.dol.gov/ilab/reports/child-labor/list-of-goods/
